Sapporo International Communication Plaza Foundation
The Sapporo International Communication Plaza Foundation (財団法人札幌国際プラザ, Zaidan Hōjin Sapporo Kokusai Puraza?) is a foundation to promote international events and projects in order to activate local economy. The headquarters is located in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaidō, Japan.
Basic Information
Sapporo International Communication Plaza Foundation, abbreviated as SICPF, was established in 1991, founded by Hokkaidō District Transport Bureau and government of Hokkaidō.
Under the "3C principle" including "Communication", "Convention", and "Citizen", SICPF has the support and participation of local people and institutions.
Major Activities
The list below is major activities the SICPF has contributed.
- Holding events such as seminars, which facilitate contact between local residents and foreigners; cooperating with regional international exchange organizations in support of their activities.
- Planning, promoting and managing conventions and similar events; assisting sponsors of events and coordinating publicity and advertising.
- Conducting research related to exchange activities and convention city planning.
- Promoting and supporting location shooting for films.
- Fostering the develoipment of human resources needed to successfully carry out international exchanges.
- Promoting economic exchanges with overseas nations.
- Promoting the acceptance of students and trainees from overseas.
- Collecting and disseminating information and materials related to previously mentioned projects.
- Administering international exchange facilities and various projects relating to international exchange, as commissioned by the City of Sapporo.
- Administering convention facilities as commissioned by the City of Sapporo.
- Engaging in other efforts beyond those mentioned above, when considered necessary to attain the Plaza's objectives.
